Adult Confirmation

Adult Confirmation is designed for

For you who were baptized Catholic, received some Catholic education, and are now eighteen years of age or older.

In general, if you have received your first Communion but not confirmation, adult confirmation is for you; if you have not received your first Communion, RCIA is probably right for you instead.

Adult confirmation classes are also a good way for you baptized Catholic adults who have not yet received their first confession to prepare for this sacrament of healing.

If you want to complete your baptism and become a full member of the Catholic Church, or if you want to make your first confession, contact Ray Hertel, 281-703-1231 or rayhertel@yahoo.com

Sacred Heart has Adult Confirmation classes every other year, in the evenly numbered years.

Adult Education:

Before taking the steps toward greater union with the Catholic Church, before receiving these sacraments, we ask that you have a functional literacy of the Church community.  We provide you with the basic tenets of the faith through a series of weekly classes.

Adult confirmation is also a great opportunity for learning the basics of the Catholic faith.  You who wish to attend classes as observers are welcome.

If you want to join us in the learning about the Church, contact Ray Hertel, 281-703-1231 or rayhertel@yahoo.com

Receiving Confirmation:

The sacrament of confirmation is conferred at special Masses on Pentecost Sunday by a bishop.  In this archdiocese, this would be Cardinal DiNardo, Archbishop Fiorenza, Bishop Joe Vasquez, or Bishop Vincent Rizzotto.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to provide any documentation to be confirmed?

We need proof of your birth, name, baptism, etc.  This typically takes the form of a copy of your baptismal certificate from the church that baptized you.
