Wedding Policies
-
All
weddings are scheduled through the pastor of Sacred Heart Church only.

In
order to set a wedding date, the pastor of Sacred Heart Church must be
contacted at least six months prior to the proposed wedding date, so that
there is time for the necessary marriage preparation, documentation, and
paperwork to be completed.

For
the ceremony in the church only, the use of wedding coordinators is
strictly prohibited.

The
parishioner wedding fee is granted to members of the Sacred Heart Church
Community who have been registered and actively participating for at least
one year prior to setting the wedding date. The non-parishioner fee
applies in every other case.

To set
the wedding date, a deposit of one-half of the wedding fee is required.
The balance of the fee is due six months prior to the wedding date.

If the
wedding is cancelled within six months of the wedding date, the deposit
will be forfeited.

Weddings are held at
11:30 a.m., 2:00 p.m., or 7:00 p.m.

Weddings are not
celebrated on Sundays.

Non-parishioners must
bring a priest or deacon to conduct their ceremony.

Ring Bearers and
Flower Girls must be at least five years of age.
-
No flash photography is
allowed during the ceremony. Please consult the minister performing the
ceremony regarding the use of video recording equipment, etc.

Flowers and other
decorations must be coordinated through Patsy Trost by calling (409)
763-3015.

All music must be
coordinated through Leo Hock by calling (409) 750-8947.

The marriage license
must be available at the wedding rehearsal or before. Please remember,
most marriage licenses are not valid until the third day and expire 31
days after acquisition.
Wedding Information

In
order to receive the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony in the Catholic Church,
either the bride or the groom must be of the Catholic Faith.

In
order to set a wedding date, the pastor of Sacred Heart Church must be

must have received written verification from the pastor of the couple’s
home Catholic parish that the necessary marriage preparation,
documentation, and paperwork will be completed.

If a
priest or deacon from outside the parish will perform the wedding, the
Sacred Heart Pastor must receive written verification that the individual
is in good standing with his home diocese or order.

For parishioners, the
wedding fee is $300.00. To set the wedding date, a deposit of $150.00 is
required. The balance of the wedding fee is due six months prior to the
wedding.
